I love to be smitten! I also love the word "kerfuffle". If you are the smittee who's the smitter?
I like smite too.
What about "smote"? Not nearly enough of that going on these days, either.

Flannery & Vikki - Smite and smote are both good, what with their being related to smitten.

I try to work "poleaxed" into a conversation whenever I can. As in, "When he tripped over the garden hose, Frank went down like he had been poleaxed." Flummoxed is good, too.
JBird - I believe I've actually HEARD you say both "poleaxed" and "flummoxed."
