Public Service Announcement

I visited my family over the weekend, which mostly involved watching a lot of TV. At one point, a commercial starrring a beaver appeared and startled me for some reason. "What's that rodent doing on our TV?" I asked. "A beaver's not a rodent," my brother responded, "it's a marsupial." Then there were several minutes of debate on the topic until my brother finally said, "Look it up," and waved his hand in the direction of the computer. So I did. And I was right. A beaver is, in fact, not a marsupial (duh). It's a rodent.

But that's not really the point of my story.

In conducting my extensive research (i.e., going to wikipedia and visiting both the beaver page and the marsupial page) I discovered these amazing facts: female marsupials have two vaginas and male marsupials have two-pronged penises!

I just thought you should know.

wow. I knew there were three types of mammals-- marsupials (pouched), placentals (like humans and dogs and cats) and monotremes (of which there's only 2-- the platypus and the echidna, both in Australia). I did NOT have any idea that female marsys had to vages. Does this mean the male has to put both prongs in both vaginas? Are the ovaries connected to both vages, one to one and one to the other? How the hell did I get this old and NOT know this stuff??

Damned good thing I stopped by today...

ummmmmm, are you done correcting your birth control yet?

Anyway, bunny rabbits are rodents too.

Evolution, you so crazy!

Wow. Do you think that little tidbit would ever be on Jeopardy?

I don't know what the answer would be, but the no one would get the question, and Alex Trebek would have to say "What is a two-pronged penis."

If I had 2 vajayjays, then I could pit one against the other and maybe get them to behave themselves.

On the other hand, 2 yeast infections at once does not sound like fun.

double the fun for both! at least they can get it more than once in a night.

You were just looking for a way to get beaver and vagina into the same post.

If you search beaver & vagina on Google I bet you'd hit a lot of Grant Miller posts.

Beavers are cool. (the rodents)

I wonder why they didn't teach us this in Biology?

Orange - You know WAY more about marsupials than is probably necessary!

Randy - Indeed they are. And they're very cute. But sadly, they have only one vagina.

Phil - I wish I had thought of that for the last line of my post!

Amy - I'd pay good money to see that. Especially if it was one of those times when Alex pretended to be really sad about the contestants not knowing the answer and repeated himself several times. "Oh, I'm sorry. It's what is a two-pronged penis. Tut tut. Two-pronged penis."

Vikki - Yeah, I'll pass on the whole two vaginas thing.

Genn6 - Did you know there are only 3 beings on Earth that derive physical pleasure from sex? Humans, whales, and some sort of monkey, if I'm remembering correctly.

Grant - And mission accomplished!

CP - I wouldn't bet against you on that one.

TenS - I know! Kids would totally pay attention to that!
